Class Policies

These are highlights, please read them carefully, you are responsible for knowing these. Other
additional information can be found on the Franklin University web pages, the class web pages
or was distributed in class.

Out of fairness to everyone, these policies will be applied evenly to all students.

Course Specific:

* Students are expected to keep up with all class related e-mails.

* Students are expected to keep up with the information posted on the
  class specific page at

     http://cs.franklin.edu/~ansaria/COMP_480/comp_480.html

This will be the primary web page and source of information for
  this course.

* No extensions will be given. However, every student will have one
"T48" to use at his/her disposal to use when they deem necessary.
This is a 48 hour extension without penalty. You have to e-mail me
ahead of the deadline and your subject line has to include your T48
request and the specific assignment name this relates to. Once
applied it can not be changed. Please note that this does not change
the final date of the 1 week late submission, it only extends the
penalty free period to the initial 2 days of the late week.

The T48 option will generally not be available for the last
assignments of the semester - please take note.

** PLEASE NOTE that once any any part of an assignment solution has
been discussed in class or the Franklin Live session, *no* late
assignments can be accepted for obvious reasons. This supersedes
any regular policies regarding late assignments.

* You are responsible for getting notes/handouts etc from a classmate
  if you miss class.

* NOTE for all programming assignments: While you may consult external
references and discuss any algorithm in general terms with others,
all code you generate must be your own. You will be expected to be
able to explain all aspects of it, and you must be able to reproduce
  it on demand.

* NOTE for all graded work in this course: Scores for work can only be
appealed by attaching a typed hardcopy justification to the
assignment in question and handing it in to me no later than one
class session after the assignment was returned or score reported to
you. I will review your case, and a final decision regarding any
score adjustments will be made. No grade appeals will be considered
that do not follow this procedure or that are submitted past this
  deadline.

* Time permitting assignment solutions will be covered in class and
general questions about the assignment will be answered. Questions
about specific individual scores cannot be discussed in class due to
time constraints, I will be glad to discuss your concerns during
office hours or right after class. This does not include grade
adjustments or discussions about scores unless it is a simple
  arithmetic problem.

* Absolutely no academic dishonesty in any form will be tolerated in
this class. Aside from the unethical behavior this constitutes, the
penalties for this are severe. The policy on academic dishonesty
can be found in the Academic Integrity section of the
Franklin University Academic Bulletin. Please note that I am both
professionally and ethically bound to report all instances of
  academic dishonesty.
