How To Submit Assignments

Some notes on submission procedures. Much of this is common sense and was discussed in class.

  1. Assignments will be numbered sequentially, e.g., Lab1, Lab2, etc.

When you receive an assignment via my web page it will contain this number and the corresponding FU assignment number in () that you will use to submit your assignment (and to look up your grade). E.g.,

             Reaction Paper 1 (1-5)
             HW 2 (2-2)
             Lab 3 (3-1)

E.g., Lab 3 needs to be submitted as assignment 3-1 in dropbox, HW 2 as assignment 2-2, etc.

  2. All of your documents must have your name, 480, and (important), the assignment numbers as shown above at the start of every document (programs included) - I printed off a number of assignments to grade that didn't have anything identifying them (not even author) - makes me consider donating those points to a charity :-) E.g.,
            Irene Adler (480)
            HW 2 (2-2)

  3. In dropbox, put the original assignment designation in your description field, e.g., "Lab 3", or "Reaction Paper 1" when you submit your assignment. Also, remember, in order to be graded, items need to be checked as 'final'.

  4. When submitting more than one document/file as part of a single assignment submit a single zipped (compressed) folder to dropbox. If you are uploading only one single document/file, please do not zip it, just upload the file in question (no need for folders).

  5. Do not submit anything to "Other" unless specifically asked to, it makes a big mess and may prevent you from receiving proper credit. Thanks.

  6. Please use Word to compose your documents when possible (not your programs of course :-) It will help with formatting and spellcheck/grammar.
