Steps Taken to Create Poster:

  1. First I brought the artists into the editor, and converted some to RGB mode, if they weren’t already so. I created a blank file, with a white background, and made it 8”x10” in size.
  2. I started with Otis Redding by selecting his background, choosing the inverse, and copied his image to a new transparent file. I then dragged this file into the project canvas. With his layer active, I used the eraser to round off the square edges. I repeated these steps for Martin Luther King, and dragged him to the canvas next to Otis. I then typed in Special Concert in Memory of on the top, typed their names and angled the text.
  3. Next I typed in Special Guests, and dragged the five artists into the canvas, arranged them, typed their names, and arranged each text block. For each of them, I used the Stroke command to give them all a black outline.
  4. Next, I typed in the price, date, place, and hours and moved it accordingly. From there, I typed in the Sponsors, chose the Arrow selection from the Custom Shape tool and drew the two arrows. I then used the Elliptical tool to draw an oval in the Stax picture, copied it into a new transparent file, dragged it into the canvas, and positioned it. I did the same thing with the Sun Studio logo.
  5. Next I selected the whole background, and put an inside stroke outline on it. I then resized the Lorraine Motel picture to 7.5” x 9.5”, placed it into the canvas, and lowered the opacity level of it.
