Serving in some capacity within the ACM-W student chapter is a great way to showcase your leadership skills while building your career network with faculty, alumni, and community technology leaders. Become an Officer
President:
  • Acts as liasion between Faculty Advisor and Chapter.
  • Acts as spokesperson for the chapter.
  • Plans and conducts officer meetings.
  • Promotes and runs annual election process for the chapter.
  • With the help of officer committee, plans and coordinates chapter events and meetings.
  • Requirements - Must be actively enrolled, or successfully completed, one of the Computer Science degrees at Franklin University.
  • Vice President:
  • Assist the chapter president as needed.
  • Acts as spokesperson for the chapter.
  • Conducts chapter business in the President's absence.
  • Treasurer:
  • Manages Chapter finances and expenses.
  • Completes annual financial report for National ACM-W Organization.
  • Works closely with SOLO office to maintain balanced account.
  • Secretary:
  • Manages Chapter membership records and minutes.
  • Ensures all new members receive chapter materials.
  • Coordinates announcements for the university newspaper and web site.

  • Community: Plan, organize, and conduct 2 community service activities per year.
  • Academic: Plan, organize, and conduct 1 academic activity per year.
  • Professional: Plan, organize, and conduct 1 professional activity per year.
  • Networking: Plan, organize, and conduct 4 networking or social events per year.
  • Social Networking: Maintain chapter Web site, Twitter account, Facebook account.
